 Post subject: Wayside Upgrades

I heard that there are more than 100,000 wayside units in the U.S. If there are 100,000 devices and only 2,000 days between now and 2015, how will the industry upgrade approx. 50 per day in time to make the deadline? It seems like a Herculean task given the complexity.

I heard the # was over 150K. Herculean is an understatement.
My idea is that the FRA will have to extend terms as long as they are making a strong effort. However, based on the last train crash in the northeast they may try and hold them to it.
